Fantastic weather and great conditions at the moment on Cascade Sodoma WI5, Ollomont, Valpelline.
Cascade Glassier WI4, looked in good condition today with a number of teams climbing it
David enjoying some steeper ice, on the last pitch of Gomorra in Ollomont today.
A number of teams climbing Gomorra WI 3+/4 today, which was is great condition.
Buckets of snow here in Italy as you'd expect, as all the weather this winter's been coming from the south and dumping this side of the range.
We were certainly glad of the well trodden trail snaking its way up through the trees accessing the routes otherwise we'd have been waist deep in it!
Care though if you're 'off piste', as we heard some big triggers this afternoon, as the sun was heating up the slopes.
Another note of caution as it's been super windy all day, you could see plumbs of snow coming off all the ridges and tops, the winds moving masses of snow around at the moment.
We drove over to the Valle di Gressoney (below the south side of Monte Rosa) late this afternoon and there's even more snow here!
Stay safe
Ade
